Project Manager - IT

Our clients are leading insurance carriers in the property and casualty sector and Brovada is a software developer specializing in business process integration, system conversions, legacy system integrations and broker connectivity for these clients. Our expertise is often sought to expedite transition of data between systems and develop new solutions to drive business process efficiency. Our business is growing in Central and Western Canada and we have a requirement for Project Managers with a strong background in software development and business analysis to augment our current team to assist in client projects and implementation activity.

As an externally facing client service professional, the successful candidate will be working with the Carrier Projects & Implementation team to oversee the development and implementation of our products and solutions for existing and new clients. This role will be the lead client interface and will oversee all aspects of project activity from contracting and statement of work definition, to development, implementation, testing, and customer acceptance.  Ability to travel to client locations in Canada and the US required.


Primary responsibilities:
  • Develop contract deliverables, statements of work, project plans, financial budgets and resourcing plans for customer implementation projects
  • Oversee customer centric teams providing input, oversight and coaching to project team participants
  • Participate in customer contract negotiations and interface with the core product development team on deliverables, key milestones and timelines
  • Participate in customer solution design activities and requirements definition
  • Provide ongoing client interface and project issue resolution
  • Oversee the project change management process
  • Provide project administration including time reporting and approval, status reporting, client meeting planning and facilitation and input to billing services.
  • Provide support to the VP of Client Implementation and Development Services in designing and implementing project management processes to be utilized internally and on client engagements.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands on project management experience overseeing complex information technology projects
  • General understanding of web application technologies
  • Comfort and confidence in customer facing engagements
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability managing multiple concurrent assignments
  • Proactive team player with the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Well organized, results oriented and able to work with tight deadlines and fixed budgets.
  • Business degree or Computer science degree/diploma accreditation or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Preference given to candidates with PMP (or equivalent) certification
  • Experience in the P&C insurance sector and French language skills are a definite asset
