Software Developers – Senior & Intermediate

Location: Saint John, Moncton, and Toronto

Our clients are leading insurance carriers in the property and casualty sector and Brovada is a software developer specializing in business process integration, system conversions, legacy system integrations and broker connectivity for these clients. Our expertise is often sought to expedite transition of data between systems and develop new solutions to drive business process efficiency. Our business is growing and we have a requirement for senior and intermediate developers in Saint John, New Brunswick to expand our product development team.

The successful candidate will be working with the Carrier Projects & Implementation team to design, develop, customize, enhance and maintain our products and new customer solutions. This role will be involved in all aspects of product development and customer solutions from user interface to database design.  Ability to travel to our office location in Toronto as well as client locations in both Canada and the US is required.


Primary responsibilities:
  • Working on both core product and customer centric teams to develop and customize products and customer solutions based on leading edge technologies while ensuring all milestones are met
  • Working in partnership with our Project Managers and Business Analysts to outline and scope customer solutions, both technically and functionally
  • Investigating and recommending technical alternatives and solutions as required
  • Taking a leadership role in overseeing specific software deliverables and milestones on key projects
  • Producing Technical Documentation as required
  • Analyzing, developing and maintaining new and existing software applications
Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years hands on experience with both .Net and J2EE technologies preferably in a software product development environment
  • Experience with web application development and technologies
  • An understanding of the complete development life-cycle
  • A solid understanding of rapid application development methodologies
  • Comfort and confidence in customer facing engagements
  • Ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills 
  • Effective time management skills, ability to work independently and strong commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer science degree/diploma accreditation or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in the P&C insurance sector
